Route Description - Alor - Forgotten Islands - Banda Sea 12N
14 Days 13 Nights
Day 1 – Embarkation (Maumere)
Guests are welcomed by the crew upon arrival at Frans Seda Airport in Maumere. Once onboard, they complete registration and attend a safety and orientation briefing. After lunch, and schedule permitting, the group proceeds with a check dive at one of the local dive sites around Maumere.
Day 2 – North Flores & Lewaling Bay
The expedition explores the reefs along the north side of Flores Island and within Lewaling Bay, set against a backdrop of dramatic volcanoes. The day includes 3–4 dives on vibrant reefs and sandy slopes before the vessel sails overnight toward Alor.
Days 3 & 4 – Alor & Pantar Strait
Over two full days, diving takes place in the rich waters of Alor, particularly within the Pantar Strait and Kalabahi Bay. The area offers a blend of colorful reefs, black sand muck diving, and exceptional visibility. Upwellings and strong currents add excitement to the 3–4 dives scheduled each day.
Day 5 – Reong & Wetar (Forgotten Islands)
The route enters the Forgotten Islands, beginning with Reong and Wetar. Divers enjoy dramatic wall dives in pristine conditions, abundant coral life, and schooling fish. Three dives are planned before the boat continues east toward Nyata Island.
Day 6 – Nyata Island
The day features 3 dives around Nyata Island, known for its white sand beaches, colorful coral reefs, and macro life hiding among the reef. Depending on tide conditions, there may also be a brief beach excursion. Overnight, the vessel sails to the Terbang Islands.
Day 7 – Terbang North & South Islands
Diving continues in the Terbang Islands, where steep walls, abundant coral, and crystal-clear waters create ideal drift diving conditions. Three dives are scheduled, followed by an overnight sail to the Banda Sea reefs.
Day 8 – Nil Desperandum Reef (Banda Sea)
The group explores the remote Nil Desperandum reef, featuring vertical walls, pelagic action, and the potential for Hammerhead shark encounters. Up to 4 dives are planned. Weather permitting, the nearby Dusborgh reef may also be visited before heading to Serua Island.
Day 9 – Serua Island (Banda Sea)
Diving at Serua Island targets sightings of Hammerhead sharks, along with sea snakes, Trevally, Surgeonfish, and Fusiliers. Sloping reefs and walls plunge into deep blue, making this a thrilling day with 3–4 dives.
Day 10 – Manuk Island (Snake Island)
Guests wake to the isolated volcano of Manuk Island, nicknamed “Snake Island.” With up to 4 dives, the day is filled with vibrant coral, macro critters, sea snakes, and a possible Hammerhead sighting. The boat then sails north toward the Banda Islands.
Day 11 – Banda Islands
The day is flexible and based on weather conditions. Dive options include Pulau Run (dramatic walls), Pulau Hatta (schooling fish and pristine reefs), Banda Neira (lush reefs and an optional historical tour), and Pulau Suanggi (extensive reef structures). Each site offers exceptional coral and biodiversity.
Day 12 – Suanggi or Nusa Laut
Two morning dives are conducted at either Suanggi Island or Nusa Laut, known for their rich coral life. In the afternoon, the vessel begins its final leg of the journey to Ambon.
Day 13 – Disembarkation (Ambon)
Guests arrive in Ambon Harbor and are transferred to Pattimura Airport (AMQ). The crew bids farewell after 13 days of extraordinary diving and exploration.
