FAQ
Making a Booking
How long does it take to confirm my booking?
We aim to confirm your travel plans with our providers as quickly as possible. However, in rare cases this may take a little longer. Please note that booking requests can take up to 12 hours be confirmed. We will contact you directly if we require further information to confirm your booking.
Can I pay a deposit?
During the booking process, you will be offered two options regarding payments.
Option 1 - Full payment
Option 2 – Deposit
If you choose to pay a deposit only, the remaining amount and the payment due date will be advised at the time of booking. Failure to pay the outstanding balance by the due date will result in us notifying your travel provider, which may lead to cancellation fees as outlined in your booking agreement. If you are travelling within 12 weeks of booking, full payment will be required to confirm your booking.
How will I get my booking confirmation
You will receive a confirmation email at the time of booking online. A further booking confirmation will also be emailed to you prior to your departure date.
I’m travelling alone – is that ok?
Absolutely! One of the great things about liveaboard travel is that many of our guests travel solo. It’s a fantastic way to meet like-minded people and share experiences along the way.
I’m travelling solo, will I be charged a single supplement?
As a solo traveller, you will be paired with another passenger of the same gender, based on your passport information. If you prefer not to share a room, you can choose to pay a single supplement, which is available on most of our trips.
How do I make a group booking?
We’re happy to help you arrange group bookings. To make a group booking, please contact us directly, as we can offer free places for groups, which are not available through our website.
Amending a Booking
How do I amend my booking?
It may be possible to make certain changes to your booking. To do so, you will need to call us, as different suppliers have different rules and charges.
Please note that if we are able to make changes to your booking, we will charge an amendment fee of £50 per booking, in addition to any charges applied by the service providers.
Travel Documents
Booking Confirmation
Simply take your liveaboardworld.com booking confirmation document with you to check in. That’s all you will need.
Visas and passports
It is your responsibility to check the passport, visa and any other entry requirements for the destination you are visiting. Most of the information you need can be found on www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice, which provides guidance on visa requirements and the minimum passport validity needed. As a general rule, we recommend having at least 12 months validity on your passport when travelling.
Travel and Diving Insurance
Do I need travel insurance?
Travel and diving insurance is essential for all travellers and should be arranged as soon as your booking is confirmed. You must provide proof of dive insurance at check-in, as you will not be able to dive without it, and you may not be able to join the trip.
What does my policy need to cover?
As a minimum, your travel insurance should be comprehensive, providing cover for personal accident, medical expenses, emergency repatriation, personal liability, and death. We also strongly recommend that it covers cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage and personal effects. For reliable options, you may wish to consider providers such as Westfield Insurance or DAN Insurance.
Cancelling a Booking
How do I cancel my booking
If you wish to cancel a liveaboard trip, a small cancellation fee will apply to cover our administration costs, in addition to any cancellation fees that may be charged by the supplier(s) of your arrangements.
Please note that even if you cancel your booking within 28 days of confirmation, the second deposit balance of your package will be payable in full immediately, along with the administration charge mentioned above. This means that if you still have an outstanding balance, it will be charged upon cancellation.
