Measuring 33.5 meters in length with a beam of 7.5 meters, the MV Raja Ampat Explorer accommodates up to 14 guests across seven air-conditioned cabins, each with en-suite bathrooms. Powered by a 300hp engine and supported by two dive tenders, the vessel cruises steadily at 8–9 knots. Onboard facilities include an indoor lounge and dining area, shaded sun deck, and camera workstations for underwater photographers. For diving, there are 14 individual gear-up stations, 20 aluminum tanks, a Coltri Sub compressor, and rinse tanks. Safety remains a top priority, with life rafts, life jackets, oxygen, and comprehensive first aid supplies readily available. Reliable navigation and communication are supported by Furuno systems, GPS, and HF radio. With thoughtful layouts and inviting communal spaces, it caters to small groups looking for genuine encounters both above and below the surface. Route Description - Misool - Fam - Central
11 Days 10 Nights
Day 1 – Embarkation (Sorong) Guests are met on arrival in Sorong and transferred to the harbour to board the vessel. The cruise begins with an overnight sail towards Misool. Day 2 – Misool Diving Up to four dives are offered at highlights including Yeliet Kecil, Nudi Rock and Tank Rock, known for pristine reefs, pelagic encounters and excellent macro life. A night dive at Romeo provides the chance to spot the rare walking epaulette shark. Day 3 – Misool Highlights Diving continues at iconic sites such as Magic Mountain, a renowned manta and shark cleaning station, followed by Boo Window and Boo West. A night dive is planned at Yeliet Besar. Day 4 – Misool & Lagoon Viewpoint Three dives explore Four Kings, Wedding Cake and the spectacular Gorgonian Passage. In the afternoon, guests hike to the famous Love Lagoon viewpoint overlooking the heart-shaped bay. Day 5 – Misool to Fam Islands A morning dive at Puri Pinnacle may reveal dramatic sardine bait balls and hunting predators, before the vessel sails north to the Fam Islands. Day 6 – Fam Islands Diving Up to four dives are scheduled at My Reef, Melissa’s Garden and Keruo Channel, showcasing strong currents, schooling fish and vibrant coral gardens. A night dive takes place at Fam Jetty. Day 7 – Piaynemo Viewpoint Guests hike to the panoramic Piaynemo lagoon viewpoint before enjoying further dives at Melissa’s Garden and My Reef, followed by a night dive at Galaxy. Day 8 – Mansuar Area Diving includes West Mansuar, the famous Manta Sandy cleaning station, and Arborek Jetty, known for swirling fish schools and colourful soft corals. A night dive is conducted at Arborek. Day 9 – Tanjung Putus Up to four dives explore Mayhem Reef, Citrus Ridge and Gam Channel, offering everything from pelagic action to pygmy seahorses. A night dive is planned at Yanggefo Reef. Day 10 – Dampier Strait Two final dives are completed at Cape Kri, holder of the world record for fish species in a single dive, and Yenbuba Jetty. The vessel then returns to Sorong. Day 11 – Disembarkation After breakfast, guests disembark and transfer to the airport for onward flights.
Route Description - Raja Ampat - Fam - Central
Day 1 – Embarkation (Sorong) Guests are met on arrival in Sorong and transferred to the harbour to board the vessel. The boat then sails to Waisai for clearance. Day 2 – Dampier Strait Diving Up to four dives begin with a check dive at Mioskon, known for healthy reefs, schooling fish and occasional wobbegongs. Further dives take place at Lao Lao and Blue Magic, offering strong pelagic action including reef sharks and manta rays. A night dive is conducted at Sapokren. Day 3 – Dampier Strait Highlights Diving continues at Friwen Wall, Sardine’s Reef and Chicken Reef, featuring colourful coral walls, dense fish life and excellent macro opportunities. A night dive is planned at RADL Jetty. Day 4 – Tanjung Putus Up to four dives explore Mayhem Reef, Citrus Ridge and Gam Channel, home to schooling pelagics, vibrant soft corals and pygmy seahorses. The day concludes with a night dive at BJ’s Reef. Day 5 – Fam Islands & Piaynemo Three dives are scheduled at Melissa’s Garden, My Reef and Fam Wall, showcasing some of Raja Ampat’s most spectacular coral gardens and fish schools. Time is set aside to visit the famous Piaynemo viewpoint overlooking the lagoon. Day 6 – Tanjung Putus Area Diving resumes at Mayhem Reef, Mambrayup Reef and Citrus Ridge, followed by a night dive at Yanggefo Ridge. Day 7 – Arborek Region Up to four dives include the renowned Manta Sandy cleaning station, Arborek Jetty and Sawandarek Jetty, offering manta encounters, swirling fish schools and turtles. A night dive takes place at Ransiwor. Day 8 – Mansuar & Kri Dives at Yenbuba Jetty, Cape Kri and Pulau Roti highlight the exceptional biodiversity of the Dampier Strait. A night dive is planned at Friwen Wall. Day 9 – Dampier Strait Final dives are completed at Cape Kri and Yenbuba Jetty before the vessel begins its return voyage to Sorong. Day 10 – Final Diving Day Two final dives are offered at Cape Kri and Yenbuba Jetty, followed by an overnight sail back to Sorong. Day 11 – Disembarkation After breakfast, guests disembark and transfer to the airport for onward flights.
