Day 1
Guests will arrive in Sorong, a coastal city located in the eastern Indonesian province of West Papua. Sorong serves as the gateway to the renowned Raja Ampat Islands.

Day 2–12
Up to 3–4 dives will be offered daily, depending on conditions. During crossings, the schedule may be reduced to 1–2 dives per day.

Day 11
The final day of diving concludes as the vessel returns to the port of Sorong.

Marine Life:
Raja Ampat is home to at least 75% of all known coral species. Divers can explore a variety of underwater landscapes, including soft corals, sea fans, hard coral gardens, seagrass beds, mangroves, shallow reefs, deep drop-offs, caves, and both black and white sand bottoms. Regular sightings include giant manta rays, sea turtles, reef sharks, cuttlefish, pipefish, multiple species of seahorses, and large schools of reef fish. Unique species such as wobbegong sharks and epaulet sharks also inhabit these waters.

The 13-day Dive & Adventure Travel itinerary begins in Ambon and sets course for the Banda Sea, with an initial stop at Nusa Laut. This island is renowned for its pristine reefs, which are actively protected by the local community. Ambon Island, the capital of Maluku Province, is home to the region’s largest and most developed town, Kota Ambon. In the 17th century, during the height of the spice trade and the Dutch monopoly on cloves, Kota Ambon served as the Dutch base in the Moluccas and was famously referred to as the “Queen of the East.” From there, the journey continues westward through the Banda Sea—celebrated for its vibrant and healthy coral reefs—before arriving in the remote and biodiverse waters of Triton Bay.

Day 1: Arrival and Embarkation
Following a morning transfer from Ambon Airport or a local hotel to the harbor at Tulehu, guests are welcomed aboard the KLM Mari liveaboard. After a comprehensive boat and tour briefing, guests check into their cabins and prepare their dive gear. While Mari cruises toward Nusa Laut, lunch, dinner, and snacks such as fresh fruit, candy bars, and ice cream are served. A check-up dive near Ambon is offered en route. With some luck, dolphin schools may be spotted in the area during the crossing.

Day 2–3: Nusa Laut
Guests dive along Nusa Laut’s vibrant coral reefs and dramatic walls. Highlights include sightings of pygmy seahorses and large schools of reef fish. Night dives offer the chance to observe fascinating nocturnal marine life. The group overnights aboard the liveaboard.

Day 4–5: Saparua
The itinerary continues at Saparua, where divers explore underwater pinnacles and lush coral gardens. The area is known for its macro life, including nudibranchs and elusive ghost pipefish.

Day 6: Pulau Koon
Guests dive around Pulau Koon’s spectacular seamounts and sloping reefs. This site is a hotspot for pelagic encounters such as barracudas and reef sharks, set against a backdrop of stunning underwater landscapes.

Day 7–8: Banda Sea
Diving in the Banda Sea reveals dramatic walls, coral gardens, and drop-offs teeming with life. Divers may encounter large pelagic species, including schooling hammerhead sharks and a variety of oceanic creatures.

Day 9: Manuk (Snake Island)
Known for its volcanic terrain, Manuk offers a unique diving experience. Divers can expect to encounter numerous sea snakes, pristine coral reefs, and a wide variety of reef fish. There is also time to snorkel and enjoy the island’s natural hot springs.

Day 10–11: Triton Bay
Located in the heart of the Coral Triangle, Triton Bay is one of the richest marine biodiversity hotspots on Earth. Highlights include pygmy seahorses, whale sharks, dolphins, marlins, and the elusive walking sharks. The waters here are both biologically diverse and visually stunning.

Day 12: Kaimana Reefs
On the final two dives, guests explore the colorful reefs surrounding Adi Island and the stunning coral formations of Kaimana. These dives provide a fitting conclusion to the underwater adventure.

Day 13: Disembarkation
Disembarkation occurs between 5:00 and 11:00 AM, following a light continental breakfast or lunch depending on individual travel schedules. Guests bid farewell to their fellow travelers and crew before being transferred to either Kaimana Airport or a nearby hotel.

Day 1: Arrival in Kaimana
Guests arrive in Kaimana, a regency located in the southern part of Indonesia’s West Papua province. Known for its remote charm and vibrant marine ecosystems, Kaimana serves as the starting point of this unforgettable liveaboard journey.

Day 2–11: Daily Diving Program
Over the next ten days, the liveaboard will explore a range of exceptional dive sites. Depending on the conditions and routing, 3–4 dives will be offered daily, including dusk or night dives when possible. On days with longer crossings, 1–2 dives will be scheduled to ensure a safe and comfortable journey. (Please note: Itinerary and dive plans may be subject to change due to weather, sea conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances.)

Day 12: Final Day of Diving – Arrival in Sorong
Guests will enjoy their final dives of the trip before cruising into the port of Sorong. This marks the conclusion of the underwater portion of the expedition.

Day 13: Disembarkation and Farewell
After a relaxing breakfast or lunch—depending on flight schedules—guests bid farewell to fellow travelers and the MARI crew. Transfers to Sorong Airport or local hotels will be arranged and assisted by the crew for a smooth departure.

Divers can expect an extraordinary range of underwater topography, from soft corals and sea fans to hard coral formations, seagrass beds, mangroves, shallow reefs, steep drop-offs, caves, and stretches of both black and white sand. Encounters with giant manta rays, sea turtles, sharks, cuttlefish, pipefish, and a variety of seahorse species are common, along with vast schools of reef fish. A comprehensive safety and dive orientation follows, setting the tone for the exciting days ahead.

Day 2–10: Diving Across Raja Ampat
For the next nine days, the MARI liveaboard explores the breathtaking underwater world of Raja Ampat. When conditions allow, guests can enjoy up to three or four dives per day. On days involving long crossings, the number of dives may be limited to one or two.

Day 11: Final Dive Day – Return to Sorong
On this final day of diving, guests complete their last underwater explorations in the morning, typically by around 10:45 a.m. Following the dives, the boat begins its return to the port of Sorong. No diving is scheduled after this time to ensure all guests can observe a safe pre-flight surface interval.

Day 12: Check-Out and Departure
Guests will enjoy a final breakfast or lunch on board, depending on individual flight schedules. After heartfelt farewells to the crew and fellow divers, transfers to Sorong Airport or local hotels will be arranged by the MARI crew, who will also assist with check-in and luggage.

The last dive of the expedition is scheduled for Day 11 at approximately 10:45 a.m. Divers are strongly advised to observe a minimum 24-hour surface interval before flying to ensure their safety.
