Route Description - Wonders of the Northern Atolls
Atolls: North Male Atoll – Lhaviyani Atoll – Noonu Atoll – Raa Atoll – Baa Atoll – Rasdhu Atoll – Ari Atoll
Guests will journey and dive through the North Male Atoll, crossing the mighty Karshidu Channel to explore the Northern Atolls—each offering its own unique charm, renowned dive sites, and rich marine biodiversity.
While manta rays can be seen year-round on this itinerary, trips scheduled from May to October offer a special highlight. During the southwest season, Baa Atoll’s Hanifaru Lagoon—a designated UNESCO Marine Reserve—becomes a feeding ground for large aggregations of manta rays and whale sharks, drawn in by plankton-rich currents. Although only snorkeling is permitted in Hanifaru Lagoon, the experience is truly extraordinary.
The 7-night Wonders of the Northern Atolls itinerary focuses on Baa Atoll, while the 10-night expeditions venture further through the Northern Atolls, revealing spectacular dive sites such as the Shark Nursery, Horobadhoo Thila, Shipwreck Graveyard, and Christmas Rock. Throughout the journey, guests visit manta cleaning stations—an iconic feature of diving in the Maldives.
This itinerary begins and ends in Malé.
