Route Description - Hallaniyat Islands
8 Days 7 Nights
11 Days 10 Nights
During the summer and fall, the Oman Explorer operates in the central region of Oman, focusing on the capital area surrounding Muscat. These expeditions begin and end in the coastal town of Sifah, offering a well-rounded exploration of the region’s most celebrated dive sites. Over the course of the cruise, divers spend three days exploring the renowned Daymaniyat Islands, one day at Fahal Island, and approximately one and a half days in Bandar Khayran.
The Daymaniyat Islands, a chain of nine uninhabited islets, are part of a protected nature reserve teeming with marine life. Divers of all experience levels can enjoy the diverse underwater landscapes, where large schools of fish, leopard sharks, and numerous turtles are frequently encountered. During certain times of the season, whale shark sightings are also possible.
Fahal Island, located about 4 kilometers off the coast of Muscat, features sheltered bays filled with vibrant hard and soft corals. On the sandy seabed, divers may encounter stingrays and various species of reef and bottom-dwelling sharks.
The itinerary also includes Bandar Khayran, home to the Al Munassir wreck—an artificial reef now thriving with marine life. The site is known for its dense populations of moray eels, lobsters, colorful nudibranchs, and vast schools of fish.
The exact routing is flexible and may vary depending on weather conditions, port authority regulations, or the experience levels of the divers on board.
