Route Description - Raja Ampat
The 7- and 10-night Raja Ampat itineraries explore the spectacular reefs of Dampier Strait, Fam, Mansuar and Misool. Highlights include manta ray cleaning stations near Mansuar, enormous schools of fish around Farondi and the exceptional marine biodiversity of Misool. Strong currents attract pelagic species, including manta rays, reef sharks, tuna, mackerel and barracuda, while night dives reveal fascinating macro life and nocturnal creatures.
Dampier Strait
Dampier Strait separates the Bird’s Head Peninsula from Waigeo and Mansuar, offering some of Raja Ampat’s richest marine biodiversity. Where the Pacific Ocean meets the Halmahera Sea, nutrient-rich waters and strong currents attract manta rays, reef sharks, schools of mackerel, tuna and barracuda, as well as dolphins and whales. Night dives beneath the Arborek and Cape Mansuar jetties reveal fascinating nocturnal marine life, including wobbegongs, walking sharks, nudibranchs, pipefish, seahorses, frogfish and scorpionfish.
Misool
Located in the southeastern part of the Raja Ampat archipelago, Misool is one of the world's most biodiverse marine regions. Its spectacular underwater landscapes include vertical walls, sloping reefs, rocky outcrops, caves and lagoons adorned with vibrant hard and soft corals. Renowned for its abundance of gorgonians and pygmy seahorses, Misool offers exceptional opportunities to discover an extraordinary variety of marine life.
