Route Description - Ultimate Bali-Bajo Expedition - Eastbound 12D/11N
This 12-day eastbound expedition travels from Bali through Lombok, the Gili Islands, Sumbawa and Sangeang to the spectacular reefs of Komodo National Park. Expect manta encounters at Nusa Penida, whale sharks in Saleh Bay, volcanic landscapes, waterfall and crater-lake treks, and exhilarating current-swept dives in Komodo, with around 34–35 dives throughout the journey.
Day 1 – Bali and Nusa Penida
Embark La Galigo in Benoa with a welcome drink, breakfast and safety briefing before sailing towards Nusa Penida. After lunch, enjoy a check dive near Broken Beach, followed by a night dive around Toyapakeh.
Day 2 – Nusa Penida
Dive Manta Point for encounters with majestic Manta Rays before exploring the clear waters and vibrant reef of Crystal Bay. After diving, La Galigo begins the crossing towards Southwest Lombok.
Day 3 – Southwest Lombok
Enjoy up to four dives across Southwest Lombok, exploring colourful reefs, slopes and current-swept terrain. After the final dive, sail towards the Gili Islands for an overnight stay near Gili Trawangan.
Day 4 – Gili Trawanga
Explore Deep Turbo and Shark Point, with opportunities to encounter reef sharks, turtles and schooling fish. Following the dives, begin the long crossing towards Moyo Island.
Day 5 – Moyo Island
Dive One Mile Reef and Angel Reef before heading ashore for a trek to Moyo's famous waterfall. Depending on conditions, finish with a night dive or beach BBQ before sailing towards Saleh Bay.
Day 6 – Saleh Bay and Satonda
Search for Whale Sharks around the traditional bagan fishing platforms in Saleh Bay. Continue to Satonda for a crater lake trek, sunset and, conditions permitting, a night dive before sailing towards Sangeang.
Day 7 – Sangeang
Explore the volcanic reefs of Sangeang Api with two daytime dives. Depending on conditions, visit a local village before a sunset or night dive, followed by an overnight crossing towards Northwest Komodo.
Day 8 – Northwest Komodo
Experience Komodo's high-energy diving at Castle Rock, Crystal Rock and The Cauldron (Shotgun), where strong currents attract schooling fish, trevally and reef sharks. Finish with a night dive at a sheltered site.
Day 9 – Central Komodo
Dive Mawan and Karang Makassar for encounters with Manta Rays, followed by the iconic Batu Bolong, renowned for its exceptional marine life. Finish the day with a night dive at a nearby sheltered site.
Day 10 – Central or Southern Komodo
Enjoy three flexible daytime dives in Central or Southern Komodo, with sites selected according to conditions. Explore colourful reefs, current-swept channels and nutrient-rich southern waters before a final night dive.
Day 11 – Penultimate Day
Enjoy the final dives around Pink Beach or Wainilu before heading ashore for a guided Komodo National Park trek. Later, witness thousands of fruit bats taking flight at sunset before sailing towards Labuan Bajo.
Day 12 – Labuan Bajo
Arrive in Labuan Bajo for breakfast and disembarkation at approximately 11:00 AM. Transfer assistance is provided to the airport or local hotel, marking the end of the 12-day expedition.
