Route Description - Triton Bay, Misool & Raja Ampat (12 nights)
A unique one-way itinerary that offers the magic of Raja Ampat combined with the marine protected area of Triton Bay. Swim with the whale sharks of Triton Bay. Discover the dramatic underwater landscapes and stunning reefs of Misool. Encounter both reef and oceanic manta rays at renowned Raja Ampat dive sites. Dive on unspoiled hard and soft coral gardens. Explore the swim-throughs and caves of Goa Farondi. See the ancient rock paintings of Timolol. Night dive is included in the schedule.
Day 1 – Arrival in Kaimana
Guests arrive in Kaimana, located in the southern part of West Papua, Indonesia, where the crew provides transfers from the airport or hotel to MARI. Arrival is recommended either the day before departure or early on embarkation day. After boarding, the vessel departs between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM. A check dive near Kaimana introduces guests to the region before the overnight cruise east toward Triton Bay.
Days 2–10 – Triton Bay to Misool (3–4 dives daily)
Up to 3–4 dives are offered each day, with 1–2 dives on crossing days depending on the sailing schedule.
The journey begins in Triton Bay, one of Indonesia's most biodiverse marine regions at the heart of the Coral Triangle. Its nutrient-rich waters support thriving coral reefs, abundant reef fish, pygmy seahorses, walking sharks, dolphins, marlin, and the area's famous whale sharks, which are often encountered near traditional fishing platforms.
The expedition then continues to Misool, one of Raja Ampat's four main islands and home to some of the healthiest coral reefs in the world. Fed by nutrient-rich upwellings from the Ceram Trough, Misool's protected reefs are renowned for their extraordinary marine biodiversity, vibrant soft corals, schooling fish, manta rays, reef sharks, and exceptional macro life.
Guests will also have the opportunity to visit Tomolol, where hidden caves display remarkable ancient rock paintings of human handprints and animals, offering a fascinating glimpse into the region's cultural heritage.
Day 11 – Arrival in Sorong
The voyage concludes in Sorong, the gateway to Raja Ampat and one of West Papua's principal coastal cities. Guests can relax onboard as the vessel returns to port after an unforgettable expedition.
Day 12 – Disembarkation
After breakfast or lunch, depending on onward flight schedules, guests disembark the vessel. The crew will arrange airport transfers and assist with check-in for departing flights.
