Route Description - Triton Bay (9 nights)
Circular route around the marine protected area of Triton Bay. Swim with whale shark as they feed at local fishing platforms. Search for macro on the walls of Aiduma and Dramai.
Day 1 – Arrival in Kaimana
Guests are welcomed aboard following an airport transfer to the vessel. After a welcome briefing by the Cruise Director, cabin allocation and a ship orientation take place before departure. There is time to settle in, assemble dive equipment, and relax before the adventure begins.
Day 2 – Adi Island: Gentle Slopes & Macro Treasures (3 dives)
The journey begins with a relaxed check dive at Adi Island before exploring gentle coral slopes, submerged pinnacles, sandy patches, and colorful bommies. Divers can expect excellent macro life, including leaf scorpionfish, ghost pipefish, nudibranchs, and juvenile sweetlips, alongside turtles and schools of fusiliers. The calm conditions make this an ideal introduction to the region.
Days 3–8 – Aiduma, Dramai & Triton Bay (3–4 dives daily)
These days showcase the incredible diversity of Triton Bay and the surrounding reefs. Dive sites feature vibrant soft coral gardens, towering sea fans, black coral forests, and sheltered bays rich in marine life. Schools of anthias, fusiliers, snapper, and sweetlips fill the reefs, while wobbegong sharks, turtles, and pygmy seahorses are frequent highlights.
In Dramai, dramatic pinnacles, ridges, and channels create exciting drift dives where nutrient-rich currents attract trevallies, barracuda, and large schools of fish. Between the action-packed dives, calmer sites provide outstanding opportunities for macro photography and spotting unusual critters hidden among the corals.
Day 9 – Whale Sharks at the Bagans (2 dives)
The expedition concludes with one of Triton Bay's signature experiences. At sunrise, the vessel visits traditional fishing platforms known as bagans, where whale sharks often gather beneath the nets to feed. Calm, shallow conditions allow for unforgettable encounters with these gentle giants. Additional dives on nearby reefs reveal beautiful soft corals and abundant reef fish, providing a memorable finale to the diving adventure.
Day 10 – Return to Kaimana & Disembarkation
After breakfast, guests disembark in Kaimana for onward transfers.
