Route Description - Egypt / Elba Reef 10N (Elba borders)
The Egypt / Sudan Border – Elba Reef itinerary is an expedition to one of the Red Sea's most remote and untouched diving regions. Departing from Port Ghalib, the route explores Elphinstone, St. John's and the pristine reefs of Elba, an exclusive area near the Egypt-Sudan border accessed with special permission from the Egyptian Navy. Divers can expect spectacular walls, vibrant coral reefs, abundant pelagic life and the historic Levanzo Wreck, a 113-metre Italian cargo ship resting on Elba Reef. Covering approximately 600 nautical miles, this itinerary is ideal for experienced divers, underwater photographers and videographers seeking uncrowded dive sites and exceptional marine biodiversity.
