Route Description - Truk Lagoon
Available for:
8 Days 7 Nights
9 Days 8 Nights
10 Days 9 Nights
11 Days 10 Nights
Truk is best known for its world-class wreck diving and with over 60 wrecks tightly packed into a coral reef lagoon. It is easy to appreciate why divers travel to this area time and time again. During WWII, the Japanese fleet used Truk as one of their main locations for attacks on the allied forces but in 1944 the American led “Operation Hailstone” surprised the fleet resulting in the plethora of dive sites which we can see there today. Many historical artifacts such as medicine bottles can be found along with the fighter planes.
Day 1:
Embarkation begins at 15:00 or later, depending on flight schedules. Guests are welcomed aboard with introductions, a comprehensive boat and safety briefing, and dinner. No diving takes place on the day of embarkation.
Diving Days:
On diving days, the Cruise Director typically schedules up to four recreational dives per day—usually three during daylight hours and one twilight dive. The daily routine is generally as follows:
A light breakfast is served before the first dive briefing and Dive 1
A full breakfast follows Dive 1, with time to relax before the briefing and Dive 2
After Dive 2, guests enjoy lunch and downtime before Dive 3
A snack is offered in the late afternoon, followed by a briefing and Dive 4
Dinner is served in the evening
Note: No night dives are conducted on the wrecks. Meal times are fixed, so technical divers are advised to plan their dive profiles and timing accordingly.
Day Before Disembarkation:
On the final full day aboard, one or two morning dives may be offered, depending on guests’ flight departure times.
Disembarkation Day:
A light breakfast is provided before disembarkation, which is scheduled for 07:00.
