Route Description - West Halmahera – Loloda, Spice Islands, Pantini Strait & Makian

Sample Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & Check-In
Guests arrive in Ternate, where they are met and transferred to the liveaboard vessel. A welcome drink is served upon arrival, followed by a comprehensive safety briefing and dive gear setup. Guests are introduced to the crew, settle into their cabins, and begin preparing for the journey ahead. The vessel typically sets sail later in the evening.
Days 2–10: Dive Exploration – 3 to 4 Dives Daily
Each day offers a mix of underwater exploration, cultural encounters, and remote island scenery as the liveaboard navigates through the spectacular diving regions of West Halmahera:
Loloda Region
– Dive among dramatic limestone islands, caverns, and vibrant reef systems alive with marine life.
Spice Islands
– Explore colorful coral walls and slopes with the opportunity to visit coastal villages for a glimpse into local cultural heritage.
Pantinti Strait
– Drift through fast-moving waters where large pelagics such as reef sharks, barracudas, and jacks patrol. Expect action-packed dives with schools of fusiliers and other reef species.
Makian & Volcanic Reefs
– Discover volcanic black sand muck sites and lava-formed reefs, home to rare macro species like frogfish, cuttlefish, nudibranchs, and more.
Untouched Reefs
– Dive sites on this route include unnamed and unexplored reefs—true frontier diving with new surprises around every corner.
Optional night dives provide opportunities to encounter walking sharks, bioluminescent plankton, and other nocturnal marine life.
Day 11: Check-Out
After breakfast, guests disembark in Ternate. Transfers to the airport or hotel are arranged by the crew.
Note: The final dive of the trip will take place on the penultimate day. Guests are advised to observe a minimum surface interval of 24 hours before flying.
