Route Description - Deep South – Zabargad & Rocky Islands
The Deep South – Zabargad & Rocky Islands explores the remote southern reaches of the Red Sea, combining dramatic walls, thriving reefs and exceptional shark diving. Highlights include the legendary Rocky Island and Zabargad Island, known for sheer drop-offs, vibrant hard and soft corals, strong currents and encounters with oceanic whitetips, hammerheads, silvertips and manta rays. The itinerary also visits renowned southern reefs such as Habili Aly, Habili Gaffar and St. John’s, where divers can expect schooling barracuda, tuna, reef sharks, dolphins and colourful reef life. With a mix of drift dives, coral gardens, caves and exciting pelagic action, this route showcases some of the most spectacular and untouched diving in Egypt’s Deep South.
Port Hamata – Rocky & Zabargad Islands Itinerary
Day 1: Port Hamata – Embarkation
Day 2: Checkout dive at Abu Galawa Kabeir Reef, followed by the first day dive and night dive at Sataya East Reef.
Day 3: First, second, and third dives of the day at Rocky Island, followed by a short trip to Zabargad Island for the night dive.
Day 4: Morning dive and second dive of the day at Zabargad Island. After lunch, a short journey to Dangerous Reef for the afternoon and evening dive.
Day 5: Morning dive at Habily Aly and second dive at Habily Gaafar. After lunch, the third dive and night dive at Um Aruok.
Day 6: Morning dive at Small Gotta or Paradice Reef, second dive at St. John Caves, then move to Sataya Reef for the third and night dive.
Day 7: Morning dive at Claudia Reef. After breakfast, snorkeling with Spinner Dolphins, followed by the second dive at Small Abu Galawa before heading back to Port Hamata.
Day 8: Port Hamata – Disembark
