Route Description - St. John's and Sataya
8 Days 7 Nights
The St. John’s & Sataya itinerary is a 7-night southern Red Sea liveaboard journey, typically departing from Marsa Alam or Port Ghalib. The route explores a combination of the Fury Shoals reef system, Sataya Reef (Dolphin Reef), and the remote reefs of St. John’s, located near the border of Sudan.
The itinerary usually begins with dives in the Fury Shoals, where calm conditions and vibrant coral gardens provide ideal sites for relaxed exploration and marine life encounters. It then continues to Sataya Reef, a sheltered lagoon well known for regular sightings of wild spinner dolphins, offering a unique and memorable in-water experience.
The highlight of the journey is St. John’s Reef, a vast and less-visited area characterised by dramatic drop-offs, caves, and swim-throughs. The region supports a diverse range of marine life, including reef sharks and pelagic species. Overall, the route offers a balanced combination of easy reef diving, iconic wildlife encounters, and more adventurous deep south dive sites.
