Route Description - Best of Maldives Deep South (Trip Back to Male): Male - Vaavu - Meemu - Thaa - Laamu - Huvadhoo - Fuvahmulah Atolls
This Maldives Deep South – Huvadhoo to Malé liveaboard expedition explores the remote southern atolls of Maldives, from Huvadhoo through Fuvahmulah, Laamu, Thaa, Meemu and Vaavu before ending in Malé. Renowned for its exceptional pelagic action, this route offers thrilling encounters with tiger sharks, hammerheads, thresher sharks, whale sharks and oceanic manta rays, alongside grey reef, whitetip and blacktip sharks and dolphins. With dramatic channels, vertical walls and current-swept reefs teeming with life, this journey delivers an unforgettable diving experience in one of the Maldives’ most exciting regions.
Arrival Day – Embarkation
Guests are welcomed at the airport and transferred to the vessel. After boarding, enjoy a welcome drink, orientation and cabin check-in. In the afternoon, complete formalities and set up dive equipment. Dinner is followed by crew introductions and a full safety briefing.
Day 2 – Last Diving Day
Enjoy 2–3 dives daily (typically 3), including one night dive during the trip. Dive sites are selected based on conditions, offering coral reefs, channels and pelagic encounters such as manta rays, whale sharks, reef sharks and other large marine life. Guided diving is provided, with divers expected to be self-reliant in buddy teams.
Final Diving Day (Day Before Departure)
Last dive in the morning. Equipment rinsing and drying in the afternoon, followed by an optional island visit. Farewell dinner in the evening.
Departure Day
Early breakfast and disembarkation by 08:30 AM. Transfers to the airport for onward travel.
