Route Description - Komodo Island 10 Nights
This Komodo & Sumbawa Expedition – 12 Days / 11 Nights explores the highlights of Komodo National Park and beyond, combining world-class diving with unforgettable island adventures. From iconic sites such as Batu Bolong, Castle Rock and Manta Alley to the critter-rich black sand slopes of Sangeang, divers experience a remarkable variety of reefs, drift dives and macro habitats. Encounters include manta rays, reef sharks, turtles and diverse marine life, while topside highlights feature Komodo dragon trekking on Rinca, village visits and scenic viewpoints. This route offers a perfect blend of thrilling dives, unique landscapes and cultural experiences across one of Indonesia’s most spectacular regions.
Day 1 – Embarkation (Labuan Bajo)
Arrival and transfer to the vessel. Welcome briefing and orientation before departure.
Day 2 – Central Komodo & Rinca (Check Dives)
Check dive at Sebayor Kecil followed by an easy drift dive (e.g. Tatawa Besar). Cruise to North Rinca.
Day 3 – Rinca & Batu Bolong
Morning Komodo dragon trekking on Rinca Island. Afternoon dives at Batu Bolong and Fish Bowl. Overnight in Gili Lawa area.
Day 4 – Golden Passage & Gili Lawa
Dives at Golden Passage and Tatawa Kecil, with optional snorkelling for mantas and turtles. Sunset views and overnight at Gili Lawa.
Day 5 – North Komodo
Dive iconic sites including Castle Rock, Crystal Rock and Shotgun. Expect sharks, jacks and dense fish life.
Day 6 – East Sumbawa
Explore remote dive sites with colourful reefs and marine life. Beach time and evening BBQ.
Day 7 – Sape & Sangeang Transit
Visit a local fishing village and continue diving en route to Sangeang Island.
Day 8 – Sangeang Volcano
Black sand dives with exceptional macro life and volcanic activity at sites like Bubble Reef.
Day 9 – Banta Island
Dive thrilling sites such as Banta Wall with chances of reef sharks and pelagics. Optional sunset hike and night dive.
Day 10 – South Komodo (Nusa Kode)
Dive Manta Alley and Horseshoe Bay, with highlights including Cannibal Rock and Yellow Wall. Excellent manta ray encounters.
Day 11 – South Rinca & Padar
Morning dives and possible dragon sightings on the beach. Afternoon relaxation and sunset hike on Padar Island.
Day 12 – Disembarkation (Labuan Bajo)
Return to Labuan Bajo and transfer to the airport.
