Route Description - Komodo Extended & Whale Sharks 10N
10 nights, ~32 dives
Day 1: Welcome to Adelaar!
The meeting point is at the Main Passenger Jetty in Serangan Harbor at 8:30 AM, where the crew will be ready to welcome guests aboard. Once everyone is on board, the vessel departs Serangan and cruises overnight along the coastline of Bali toward Satonda Island. Guests may enjoy a stunning sunset over Bali’s majestic Mt. Agung.
Day 2: Moyo & Satonda Islands, Sumbawa (3–4 dives)
Two morning dives are scheduled at Pulau Moyo along the fringing reef outside the main village. Later in the afternoon, the vessel arrives in Satonda for a dive along a sloping reef with coral outcroppings. As night falls and bats fill the sky, guests prepare for the first night dive of the trip. The vessel will then travel overnight to Sangeang.
Day 3: Sangeang Volcano, Sumbawa (2 dives)
Guests will wake to the sight of Sangeang Volcano, an active volcanic island with its last eruption in 2014. This black sand dive site offers spectacular volcanic terrain, with bubbles of sulfur gas streaming from the seafloor, creating an underwater jacuzzi effect. A night dive is planned at anchor.
Day 4: North Komodo National Park (3–4 dives)
The day begins with sunrise at Gili Lawa Laut in the northern Komodo National Park. Situated in the Wallacea region, this area boasts a unique blend of Asian and Australian wildlife. Guests will explore several dive sites in the bay and move to the outer Komodo Bay for a night dive in the evening.
Day 5: Komodo Island & Lehok Sera (3 dives)
At 7:00 AM, guests go ashore for a ranger-led hike into Komodo Island, home of the famous Komodo dragons. After returning to the vessel, the journey continues south for a mid-morning dive. At dusk, Lehok Sera offers an opportunity to spot the elusive mandarin fish on a twilight dive.
Day 6: South Komodo National Park (3–4 dives)
The morning begins with a visit to Manta Alley at the southern tip of Komodo Island, where cooler, nutrient-rich waters attract manta rays. In the afternoon, the vessel cruises to Nusa Kode in southern Rinca, a dramatic bay surrounded by cliffs. Between dives, guests may board the dinghy for a close-up view of the local dragon population. A night dive follows at day’s end.
Day 7: South Rinca (3–4 dives)
Two dives are scheduled, including a visit to Cannibal Rock—one of Komodo’s best macro sites. Afterward, the vessel sails to Padar Island for an afternoon dive. Guests may enjoy a sunset hike over a crescent-shaped bay or join an evening night dive.
Day 8: Padar & North Rinca (3–4 dives)
Departing Padar early, the vessel enters the central park area—"current city"—known for strong tidal currents and exhilarating drift dives. Marine life is abundant, with frequent manta sightings. In the evening, the vessel heads north toward Wainilu for a night dive.
Day 9: Central Komodo (3–4 dives)
Dives today focus on the central and northern boundaries of Komodo National Park, particularly around the uninhabited islands of Gili Lawa Laut and Gili Lawa Darat. The vessel anchors in a quiet bay for a peaceful night dive.
Day 10: North Komodo (3 dives)
The final dive day includes sites around the northern edge of the park and the Sebayor Islands. Guests are advised to monitor their no-fly time to ensure safe diving before departure.
Day 11: Farewell in Labuan Bajo
The vessel arrives in Labuan Bajo by 7:00 AM. After breakfast, guests disembark for their onward travel.
