Route Description - Ambon - Raja Ampat South

Ambon, in Indonesia’s Maluku province, is famed for its world-class muck diving, especially in Ambon Bay. Divers flock here to spot rare macro critters like rhinopias, frogfish, harlequin shrimp, and the unique psychedelic frogfish. The area also offers vibrant reefs, steep walls, and pelagic life, making it a favorite for both macro enthusiasts and those seeking diverse underwater experiences.
Southern Raja Ampat, centered around the island of Misool, is renowned for its breathtaking underwater landscapes and biodiversity. This remote area boasts vibrant soft coral gardens, massive sea fans, and dramatic reef formations. Divers can expect encounters with both reef and oceanic manta rays, along with dense schools of fish and frequent sightings of sharks. The region also features stunning lagoons, hidden caves, and mangrove-lined reefs, making it a paradise for both wide-angle photography and exploration.
Day 1
Guests board the vessel in Ambon and get settled in for the journey ahead. After safety briefings and a warm welcome, the day concludes with a check dive in the afternoon, allowing divers to adjust to the water conditions and equipment.
Day 2
The first full day of diving begins with three to four dives, including the possibility of a night dive. A light breakfast starts the day, followed by the first dive. After a second dive and a delicious breakfast, the group enjoys lunch, followed by two more dives before dinner. Activities such as snorkeling, hiking, and local village tours are available.
Day 3-10
Over the course of the next several days, divers will enjoy 3-4 dives daily, each day offering new dive sites to explore. The itinerary includes varied dive experiences, from vibrant coral reefs to thrilling night dives. The usual schedule includes a light breakfast, morning dives, followed by meals and more dives throughout the day. The evenings offer time for relaxation, with optional shore excursions and opportunities to learn about the local culture.
Day 11
On the second-to-last day, divers will enjoy their final morning dives before returning to port in the afternoon. The evening is spent back onboard for the last night before disembarkation.
Day 12
After breakfast, guests disembark from the vessel, with transfers arranged to the airport or hotel for their onward journey.
