Route Description - Sepik Soirée (10 nights)

CAIRNS / KAVIENG – MADANG / CAIRNS (OR REVERSE)
Day 1
The adventure begins with an introduction to Papua New Guinea’s rich coastal and island cultures. Guests cruise toward the Sepik River and Lake Kambaraumba, famed for stilt villages and the dramatic crocodile initiation ceremony.
Day 2
A helicopter flight reveals the lush jungle scenery that inspired Avatar. Guests float downstream on bamboo rafts before rejoining the True North anchored in paradise.
Day 3
At Mussau Island, guests snorkel among a manta ray congregation before heading to Margaret’s Island for beach walks and a dive on a WWII submarine chaser wreck. The day ends with a village visit at Little Massau.
Day 4
Manus Province reveals one of PNG’s most remote and untouched regions. Guests dive vibrant coral walls and shipwrecks, or snorkel reefs teeming with life amid the province’s scenic island mosaic.
Day 5
Ponam Island offers WWII history, traditional sing-sing dancing, and rich marine life. Helicopter flights provide panoramic views, while snorkellers, divers, and anglers enjoy a full day of exploration.
Day 6
Guests explore The Hermits, with its spectacular barrier reef and world-class diving. Snorkelling reveals sharks, turtles, and rays, while beach lovers enjoy sunset cocktails on remote Luf Island.
Day 7
The Ninigo Islands present a stunning open-atoll environment. Guests snorkel, dive, fish, and walk through lush island villages, visiting Lau, the ‘Garden Island’, and Longan, famous for sailing canoes and volleyball.
Day 8
The expedition enters the Sepik River. Guests explore via adventure boats and helicopter, visiting villages renowned for tribal art, totem drums, and rich cultural traditions.
Day 9
A dramatic crocodile initiation ceremony highlights the day, followed by visits to Angoram’s riverside market and Kambaraumba village. A vibrant sing-sing and scenic journey through lake-stilt settlements round out the experience.
Day 10
Guests dive and snorkel the vibrant outer reef or relax on Bagabag Beach. A helicopter flight over volcanic KarKar Island is followed by a stroll through plantations and sunset drinks ashore.
Day 11
After breakfast on board, guests disembark in Madang for their charter flight back to Cairns.
