Route Description - Djibouti Whale Sharks
From mid-October to February, plankton blooms in the Gulf of Tadjourah near Djibouti City create exceptional opportunities to encounter numerous whale sharks, particularly juveniles that use these sheltered coastal waters as a nursery area. While whale sharks can be seen year-round, this season offers peak sightings. The nutrient-rich bay also attracts manta rays, dolphins, tuna and jackfish, making this itinerary highly recommended for divers, snorkellers and freedivers alike.
