DAY 1: OSLOB AND SUMILON ISLAND
We spend the 1st day snorkeling with Whale Sharks at Oslob. The rest of the day will be spent diving around tranquil Sumilon Island, surrounded by crystal clear waters and pristine white sandy beaches. Look out for… exquisite coral gardens and drop-offs. ‘Might sees’ in this area include manta rays and sting rays, barracudas, sea turtles and snakes and very occasionally whale sharks and hammerheads.
DAY 2: PESCADOR ISLAND / MOALBOAL
Rated as one of the Philippines top dive sites for many years this small island is just a couple of miles due west of Moalboal. The exhilarating scene is set by a small plateau that surrounds the island before it drops vertically into the abyss. The wall is literally teeming with life; frog fish, stonefish, barracuda and turtles are common but the real draw is the sardine run and a chance of a thresher!
DAY 3 & 4: MONAD SHOAL / MALAPASCUA
Start the week with a dawn dive on what is rapidly becoming one of the best-known dive sites in the Philippines; Monad
Shoal. Sit in 20m/70ft to 28m/95ft and enjoy the Thresher Sharks and Manta’s that frequent the area. Resort based boats have an hour-long journey to this site meaning a very early start to the day... You’ll be tucked up comfortably in bed or enjoying your first coffee.
DAY 5: ROMBLON
Romblon Island offers various dive sites: walls, cliffs, soft coral spots, muck dive sites for macro fans, giant gorgonias, marine sanctuaries, underwater canyons and much more. Some highlights include giant fan corals, swarmfish, muck and macro critters like Marble shrimps, Spanish dancers, rare tiger shrimps.
DAY 6: VERDE ISLAND AND PUERTO GALERA
Verde Island and the surrounding waters are known as the "center of marine biodiversity in the world" with over 300 species of coral and underwater rock canyons that host nearly 60 percent of the world’s known shore-fish species so get ready for some truly spectacular diving! The area is known for its generally strong currents and clear waters that provide great drift diving along deep walls. Around Puerto Galera, diving is mostly colorful reefs with very diverse topography, such as walls, ledges, big coral heads and even a proper wreck (Alma Jane). There are also opportunities for amazing muck diving and macro critters.
DAY 7: DISEMBARKATION 8AM
This is an excellent itinerary to add a few nights at Atlantis Puerto Galera.
