Route Description - St. Johns
The highlight of this route is the St. John’s Cave area, where Umm Hararim reveals a stunning maze of caves and canyons. The reef’s southwest side is filled with Swiss cheese–like holes, surrounded by a vibrant hard coral garden. In shallow waters, divers can glide through illuminated passages where sunlight dances across soft corals. St. John’s is also home to barracudas, reef sharks, and other captivating marine life, offering a truly magical underwater experience.

This vast reef system lies furthest to the south on the Egyptian side, 10 miles from the Sudanese border. There are dozens of excellent dives. Its reefs rise up from a gigantic underwater plateau hidden in the inky blue water.
