Route Description - Komodo & Whale Sharks

Experience the unparalleled beauty of Komodo National Park with Adelaar, the premier Komodo luxury liveaboard. As a UNESCO World Heritage site, this breathtaking destination offers not only encounters with the famous Komodo dragons but also a dive into an extraordinary underwater world. Set sail with Adelaar to explore the park’s dramatic landscapes and vibrant marine life.

Day 1 – Labuan Bajo (1 Dive)
Guests arrive in Labuan Bajo by flight or ferry and are greeted by Adelaar’s staff for transfer to the harbor. After boarding, the journey begins toward Sebayur for a check dive. The evening is spent anchored at Kalong, where fruit bats fill the sunset skies as they fly to the mainland.

Day 2 – Komodo National Park: Dragon Walk (3 Dives)
At sunrise, guests go ashore on Rinca Island for a ranger-guided trek to see Komodo dragons and other wildlife. The day continues with vibrant dives in the central park, showcasing colorful reefs and abundant marine life.

Day 3 – Komodo National Park (4 Dives)
The northern Gili Lawa islands offer some of Komodo’s signature sites, with thrilling seamounts and drift dives. A sunset viewpoint hike crowns the day with sweeping park views.

Day 4 – Sangeang (3 Dives)
Arriving at Sangeang Volcano, guests dive among black sandy slopes where sulfur bubbles rise like an underwater jacuzzi. The site teems with critters and vivid reefs. Overnight, Adelaar sails toward Moyo Island.

Day 5 – Moyo (2 Dives + Waterfall Walk)
Moyo’s fringing reefs and seamounts offer warm, clear waters full of fish. A shore excursion leads through a village to a waterfall, where adventurous guests can swing into the pool below. The evening continues into Teluk Saleh, home to whale sharks.

Day 6 – Saleh Bay (Bagans, 1 Dive)
An early start takes guests to Bagans (local fishing platforms) to encounter whale sharks. After the final dive and breakfast, disembarkation follows at Badas/Sumbawa Besar.

Booking Conditions / Additional Costs / Marine Park Fees

Cancellations for Individual and Group Bookings: All cancellations must be made by fax or e-mail. The date that ADELAAR receives the cancellation of the booking by e-mail or fax is the date used to determine the cancellation penalty.

Cancellation penalties for individual bookings:
More than 90 Days - Loss of deposit. Less than 90 Days - Loss of full payment Less than 60 days prior to departure: 100% of the individual cruise price.

Cancellation penalties for group bookings:
More than 91 days prior to departure: forfeit of deposit.
Less than 90 days prior to departure: 100% of the group charter price.
Once an add-in Diving Komodo Itinerary becomes fully booked and closed for further bookings, no refunds will be given for cancellations. This information will be posted on our webpage schedule, as fully booked. Individual guests are responsible for checking the website prior to any cancellation.
A passenger who has booked into a scheduled Bali to Komodo trip, and who wishes to cancel, has the option to substitute another person (not already scheduled on the trip) into his space to avoid the cancellation penalty. Passenger substitution will be allowed up to three days prior to departure.
ADELAAR will not refund any money to passengers who fail to show for boarding on the trip departure date, whether this is due to missed airline connections or from the lack of proper paperwork required to enter the country, or any other reason. If an airline connection is missed, ADELAAR will make all efforts to arrange that the passenger can join the ADELAAR at some point in the itinerary. However, the cost to do so (airfare, small boat transport to ADELAAR, or any other cost involved) is solely the responsibility of the client.
If the customer interrupts or cuts short a trip for any reason, ADELAAR is not liable to refund any money to the customer. In cases of emergency such as personal illness or accident, ADELAAR will assist in all necessary arrangements for the passenger’s return travel. However, the cost of this is to be borne solely by the passenger.
For these reasons we strongly recommend the purchase of trip interruption insurance and/or trip cancellation insurance.
