Route Description - Best of the Red Sea Safari

                            Daedalus Reef 
Daedalus Reef features steep walls and a southern plateau descending from 30 m to 40 m, covered in colorful corals. Turtles, schooling fish, scorpionfish, and stonefish are often seen, while hammerhead and thresher sharks occasionally patrol nearby. On the west side lies Anemone City, a 10 m-wide colony stretching from 5 m to 30 m, teeming with fusiliers, jacks, and surgeonfish. 
 
Elphinstone 
A narrow reef running north to south in the open sea, Elphinstone has dramatic drop-offs and plateaus on both ends. The site is known for vibrant soft corals and frequent shark encounters, particularly around its north and south tips. 
 
St. John’s 
Located near the Sudanese border, St. John’s is a vast reef system rising from deep blue waters. Its many dive sites offer towering coral formations, swim-throughs, and abundant marine life. 
 
Zabargad 
Once home to ancient olivine mines, Zabargad features scenic south wall dives with colorful passages and coral-covered slopes, offering a blend of history and underwater beauty. 
 
Rocky Island 
Surrounded by sand and coral ridges, Rocky Island offers swim-throughs around 20 m and sightings of leopard and whitetip reef sharks, turtles, and trevallies. With strong currents and depths reaching 39 m, it’s best suited for advanced divers. 
 
Shaab Maksur 
A long, narrow reef with plateaus north and south, Shaab Maksur hosts dolphins, barracudas, and reef sharks. The south plateau’s coral blocks shelter diverse reef species, making it a favorite among photographers.
