Embark on this one-way expedition travels to or from the northernmost reaches of the Maldives, approximately 180 miles north of Malé, where the reefs of Shaviyani and Haa Alifu Atolls await. Exploring these lesser-dived waters promises exhilarating encounters as the vessel navigates hidden reefs and thilas. The crew knows this area intimately and guides guests to remarkable shark and manta points. In this remote region, far from the crowds, divers are immersed in a serene underwater world with only their dive buddy for company.

The Far Northern Atolls are the oldest in the Maldives, bearing witness to a history that dates back around 65 million years. Beyond lies the vast Eight Degree Channel, which separates the continental shelf of India and Sri Lanka from the northern tip of the Maldives. During the calm northeast season, from March to April, the journey extends into these deep ocean waters, offering rare opportunities to encounter the magnificent giants of the sea—blue whales and sperm whales—in their natural environment.

This itinerary includes a 50-minute one-way flight, either from Malé to Hanimaadhoo or Hanimaadhoo to Malé. Whether traveling northbound or southbound aboard the Spirit of Maldives, the Far North expedition captures the true essence of adventure, promising an unforgettable journey off the beaten path.
